Here is a very brief history of our church. Grace Church began as part of a circuit in 1840. The first meeting was held in the courthouse jury box, with 12 people in attendance. Soon, plans for the first church were organized, and a property located on Third Street between Chestnut and Locust was purchased. It was four years before the building was complete.
In 1880, Mrs. Elizabeth Spangler donated the property on the corner of 4th and Walnut Streets, where Grace is currently located. The 1880's building was erected and in 1903 the addition of the Sanctuary was completed and dedicated.
In later years the education and office wings would be added.
